NEW ORLEANS – A St. Tammany Parish man alleges he was injured in a Mississippi casino.
Ricky Holifield Sr. filed a complaint in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against Silver Slipper Casino Venture LLC, doing business as Silver Slipper Casino, alleging negligence.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Sept. 20, 2015, he was a guest at defendant's Silver Slipper. While walking up a stairway, he alleges he slipped on a foreign substance and sustained serious injuries that resulted in physical and mental pain and suffering, disability and incurred extensive medical expenses. The plaintiff holds Silver Slipper Casino Venture LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to timely inspect for and/or detect and/or clean up the substance on the floor and failed to remedy the dangerous condition.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendant in an amount to be determined at trial, plus pre- and post-judgment interest, costs and expenses and all other relief that may be fit and proper. He is represented by Scott D. Brownell of Scott D. Brownell PC in Covington.
