LAKE CHARLES – A New Jersey corporation alleges an Arkansas company did not finish a construction project.

Matheson Tri-Gas Inc. filed a complaint on Sept. 15 in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Louisiana, Lake Charles Division against Williamson General Contractors Inc. alleging that the contractor breached its agreement to construct plaintiff's Matheson’s Pelican Phase 1 plant in Westlake for the price agreed upon.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that it paid the defendant $19,746,751.43 for the construction of the subject facility. The plaintiff holds Williamson General Contractors Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly demanded additional unreasonable sums to complete the facility, abandoned the construction of the facility in June and failed to pay the amounts due to its subcontractors.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendant for an award for full and complete damages, plus cost of court, and all other just and equitable relief. It is represented by Jeremy N. Morrow, Cliff A. LaCour and Victoria Theriot of NeunerPate in Lafayette.
