GRETNA – A woman is seeking damages following a fall at a Whole Food Market.

Diana Haydel filed a suit against Whole Food Co. Inc. and Cintas Corp. No. 2 in the 24th Judicial District Court on Sept. 30.

According to the claim, the plaintiff was visiting the Whole Food Market at 3420 Veterans Memorial Blvd. in Metairie on Oct. 3, 2015, when the incident occurred. The suit states that the plaintiff was caused personal injury when she was exiting the store and her foot caught the edge of a mat that was furnished by Cintas. The plaintiff allegedly fell and hit the cement, causing bruising and lacerations on the front of her body. Following her fall, she was allegedly given a dirty rag for her wounds and was told that the store could not call 911 as it was against its policy. The suit states that the fall resulted in the plaintiff's need to be seen by an oral surgeon as well as other medical care.

The defendants are accused of negligence.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. The plaintiff is represented by Paul J. Masinter and John P. Farnsworth of Stone Pigman Walther Wittmann LLC of New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division F Judge Michael P. Mentz.
