Woman alleges spill in Dollar Tree store caused fall, injuries

GRETNA – A Jefferson Parish woman claims that she was caused to slip and fall at a Dollar Tree.

Sequoyah Collins filed a suit against Dollar Tree Inc. and ABC insurance company in the 24th Judicial District Court on Sept. 29.

According to the claim, the plaintiff was a guest in the Dollar Tree located at 2703 Belle Chasse Highway in Gretna on June 26 when the incident occurred. The suit states that the plaintiff was caused to slip and fall on a substance that was left on the floor.

The defendant is accused of negligence through failing to properly clean the premises of the store or to provide warning of the danger.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. She is represented by Jason M. Baer and Rajan Pandit of the Pandit Law Firm in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division B Judge Cornelius E. Regan.
