Metairie property owner alleges contractors abandoned job

GRETNA – A Metairie property owner alleges the contractors hired to make improvements to her home did not complete the job.

Kristina Vucicii filed a suit against D&K Construction and Shoring LLC, Dean Walters, Bridges Builders Construction Group LLC, Gemini Insurance Co., Earin Bridges, Ernest Robert Blackwell, Keely Authement, Olde Orleans Designs Inc. and James G. Chauvin in the 24th Judicial District Court on Oct. 5.

According to the claim, the plaintiff is the owner of the property located at 3613 James Drive in Metairie. The suit states that the plaintiff, D&K Construction and Shoring LLC and Walters entered into a contract for the leveling and shoring of the plaintiff's property in June 2014. The suit explains that the defendants abandoned the job, failing to complete what the contract stated would be done. Bridges Builders Construction, Chauvin and Olde Orleans Designs Inc. were allegedly subcontractors on the project.

The defendants are accused of breach of contract, unjust enrichment and other counts.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. She is represented by Pamela W. Carter and Lorena McPhate Lisi of Carter Law Group in River Ridge.

The case has been assigned to Division C Judge June Berry Darensburg.
