Northwestern State University claims that a student failed to pay tuition

NEW ORLEANS – Northwestern State University is seeking damages over claims that a student failed to pay for attending.

The University of Louisiana System board of supervisors through Northwestern State University filed a suit against Ciera Pichon in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on Sept. 8.

According to the claim, the plaintiff allowed the defendant to enroll in 12 credit hours' worth of courses in 2014 that were valued at more than $3,000. The suit states that the defendant failed to make payments on the account.

The defendant is accused of open account against the plaintiff.

The plaintiff is seeking $3,430.30 in damages. The plaintiff is represented by Meghan N. Beal of the Louisiana Department of Justice in Baton Rouge.

The case has been assigned to Division M Judge Paulette R. Irons.
