Crescent City Surgical Centre alleges insurers owe it for medical care provided

GRETNA – A Jefferson Parish surgical center alleges an insurance company failed to pay it for its medical care of patients.

Crescent City Surgical Centre filed a suit against Louisiana Health Service & Indemnity Co., doing business as Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Louisiana; Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Louisiana Inc.; and HMO Louisiana Inc. in the 24th Judicial District Court on Oct. 18.

According to the claim, the plaintiff is seeking damages over claims that the defendants have repeatedly failed to pay the plaintiff the amount that they owe.

The defendants are accused of breach of contract and other counts.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. The plaintiff is represented by Gilbert V. Andry IV of the Andry Law Firm in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division L Judge Donald A. Rowan Jr.
