A woman is suing a university for its uneven pavement

NEW ORLEANS – A woman is seeking damages, claiming that an uneven portion of pavement resulted in her injury.

Robin Hunter filed a suit against Dillard University, Travelers Casualty and Surety Company, Constitution State Services LLC, and Educational & Institutional Insurance Administrators Inc., also known as EIIA, College Risk Retention Group Inc. in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on Sept. 21.

According to the claim, the plaintiff was caused injury due to the presence of a broken and uneven sidewalk on the campus of Dillard University when she was there on Oct. 1, 2015. The suit states that the risk was unreasonable.

The defendant is accused of negligence through failing to repair the premises or warn of the danger that was present.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. The plaintiff is represented by David R. Fine.

The case has been assigned to Division G Judge Robin M. Giarrusso.

The Orleans Parish Civil District Court Case number 16-9485.
