NEW ORLEANS – A woman claims that she was injured in a slip and fall at a Marriott.

Evelyn R. Hayes filed a suit against Marriott International Inc. and HMC Hotel Properties II Limited Partnership, formerly known as Marriott Hotel Properties II Limited Partnership, in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on Sept. 27.

According to the claim, the plaintiff was a guest at the Marriott hotel located at 555 Canal St. on Sept. 27, 2015 when the incident occurred. The suit states that the plaintiff was caused to slip and fall on some stairs due to their wetness.

The defendant is accused of negligence through failing to maintain a safe environment for guests or warn of the potential for danger.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. The plaintiff is represented by Albert A. Thibodeaux.

The case has been assigned to Division F Judge Christopher J. Bruno.

The Orleans Parish Civil District Court Case number 2016-9666.
