Theater patron alleges staircase caused her to fall, break arm

GRETNA – A woman alleges she fell at a theater because of a staircase.

Rosina Meyers filed a suit against Burlington Insurance Co., Jefferson Performing Arts Society and the city of Westwego in the 24th Judicial District Court on Oct. 25.

According to the claim, the plaintiff was at the Teatro Wego! Theatre on Nov. 22, 2015, when the incident occurred. The suit states that the plaintiff was caused to strike a movable staircase with her foot while walking in front of the stage, causing her to fall and break her left arm and injure her back, head and face.

The defendants are accused of negligence.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. The plaintiff is represented by Przemek Lubecki of Morris Bart in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division M Judge Henry G. Sullivan Jr.
