Former teacher at University of Holy Cross alleges contract wasn't honored

NEW ORLEANS – A man claims that his employment contract as a professor at a catholic school was breached.

Andrew Rogers filed a suit against University of Holy Cross, also known as Lady of Holy Cross College, in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on Nov. 2.

According to the claim, the plaintiff was a professor at the institution for the 2012-2015 school years. The suit states that the plaintiff's contract was not renewed despite his following all obligations to the institution. The plaintiff claims that, according to the terms of the contract, he deserved one year's notice if the contract was not to be renewed.

The defendant is accused of breach of contract through failing to give him the appropriate the amount of time for warning.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. The plaintiff is represented by Mare L. Frischhetrz of Frischhertz, Poulliard, Frischhertz & Impastato in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division E Judge Clare Jupiter.
