NEW ORLEANS – A St. Tammany Parish man alleges he was injured because of a wet floor in an auto parts store.
Michael Symms filed a complaint on Oct. 25 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against Autozone Stores LLC, Autozoners LLC, Autozone Development LLC, Autozone Parts Inc. and Autozone Inc. alleging negligence.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Nov. 1, 2015, he entered defendants' AutoZone Store in Abita Spring when suddenly and without warning he slipped on the floor of the store just inside of the entry door. He alleges he sustained injuries resulting in pain and suffering, mental anguish, medical expenses, disability and lost wages.
The plaintiff holds Autozone Stores LLC, Autozoners LLC, Autozone Development LLC, Autozone Parts Inc. and Autozone Inc. responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to inspect the premises for the existence of a dangerous condition, failed to properly maintain its premises and failed to warn its customers of the unreasonably dangerous condition.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensation for damages in an amount to be determined at trial, plus interest and all other equitable relief. He is represented by G. Brice Jones and Paul D. Hesse of Brice Jones & Associates LLC in Slidell.
