NEW ORLEANS – A Florida woman alleges she was injured in an accident on Highway 22 at Dalwill Drive in Mandeville.
Marlene Collett filed a complaint on Oct. 28 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against Geico Casualty Co., Paul Morgan, Jonathan Morgan and All State Property and Casualty Insurance Co. alleging negligence.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in Feb. 10 she was lawfully operating her vehicle when a vehicle owned by Paul Morgan and operated by defendant Jonathan Morgan negligently rear-ended her vehicle. She alleges the incident caused her to sustain severe injuries resulting in physical pain and mental anguish, disability, medical expenses, loss of earning capacity and loss of consortium.
The plaintiff holds Geico Casualty Co., Paul Morgan, Jonathan Morgan and All State Property and Casualty Insurance Co. responsible because Jonathan Morgan allegedly followed her vehicle too closely, failed to maintain a proper lookout and drove the vehicle in a careless and reckless manner.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendants, jointly and in solido, for a reasonable amount, plus interest and for all other equitable relief. She is represented by James E. Courtenay, Brian King and Jason F. Giles of The King Firm LLC in New Orleans.
