Delgado Community College is seeking damages, claims student failed to pay

GRETNA – A community college claims that a student failed to pay.

The Louisiana Community and Technical College System through Delgado Community College filed a suit against Lekisha Desharne Heim in the 24th Judicial District Court on Nov. 4.

According to the claim, the plaintiff was admitted to the institution as a student during the spring 2013 semester. The suit states that the defendant failed to pay the open account that was associated with her attendance. The school is seeking more than $1,200.

The defendant is accused of open account.

The plaintiff is seeking $1,226.75 in damages. The plaintiff is represented by Rokeya J. Morris of the Louisiana Department of Justice in Baton Rouge.

The case has been assigned to Division O Judge Danyelle M. Taylor.
