NEW ORLEANS – A Lafourche Parish vessel owner alleges it is owed for the vessel's use.
Odyssea Marine Inc. filed a complaint on Nov. 14 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against Legacy Offshore LLC alleging breach of a charter.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Feb. 6, 2015, it entered into an agreement to charter its vessels to defendant, wherein defendant agreed to pay the applicable rates of hire and any additional charges. As of the filing of this complaint, the past due invoices amounting to $90,952.95 remains unpaid, the suit states. The plaintiff holds Legacy Offshore LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly has wrongfully withheld payment for the services performed by plaintiff's vessel, M/V Odyssea Dynamic.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment in its favor for the sum of $92,962.56, plus interest and for such other relief it may be entitled. It is represented by Charles A. Cherise Jr. and L. Cole Callihan of Adams & Reese LLP in New Orleans.
