Toyota leasing company alleges customer owes more than $1,000

NEW ORLEANS – A Toyota leasing company is suing a customer, alleging overdue payments.

Toyota Lease Trust filed a suit Dec. 12 against Pit Stop Automotive LLC and Shawn Berger in Orleans Parish Civil District Court, alleging breach of contract and an open account.

According to the claim, Toyota issued a lease agreement to Pit Stop Automotive for a 36-month payment for a vehicle, beginning in 2015. The suit states the defendants have failed to keep up with payments and have incurred charges of $1,253.64, plus late chargers of more than $60. 

Toyota Lease Trust seeks all money owed, court costs and attorney fees. It is represented by attorneys Jon Ann Giblin and Zelma M. Frederick of Baton Rouge.

The case has been assigned to Division J Judge Paula A. Brown.
