NEW ORLEANS – A medical supplies claims a former employee misappropriated confidential information to a competitor.

Byram Healthcare Centers Inc. filed a complaint on Dec. 5 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against Christi Rauth alleging that the former employee violated the Louisiana Trade Secrets Act and other counts.

According to the complaint, Rauth resigned from her employment with the plaintiff in Nov. 21 to accept employment with a competitor, United Seating and Mobility. The plaintiff holds Rauth responsible because the defendant allegedly unfairly utilized plaintiff's confidential information and goodwill on behalf of her new employer.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks an order enjoining defendant from utilizing any of plaintiff's confidential information, award for all damages and such other relief as the court deems just and proper. It is represented by P.J. Kee and Alison Lungstrum of Jones Walker LLP in New Orleans and Scott M. Gilbert and Michael J. Lorden of Polsinelli PC in Chicago.
