Apartment tenant blames concrete company for injuries

GRETNA – A Gretna apartment tenant is suing a concrete business, alleging its negligence caused him to fall on construction debris.

David Bourgeois filed a suit against TMT Concrete LLC & Axis Surplus Insurance Company in the 24th Judicial District Court Dec. 16, alleging negligence.

According to the claim, Bourgeois was residing at the Calypso Apartments in Gretna when TMT Concrete was contracted to complete work there. The suit states on Dec. 17, 2015, the plaintiff was caused to trip and fall violently to the ground and suffer injuries when he encountered mesh wiring debris left by the defendants.

TMT Concrete is accused of negligence through failing to perform the work in a professional manner or place the appropriate warnings of the danger.

Bourgeois seeks reasonable damages and court costs. He is represented by attorney Scott. P. Shea of New Orelans.

The case has been assigned to Division F Judge Michael P. Mentz.

The 24th Judicial District Court Case number 767482.
