NEW ORLEANS – A seaman alleges his employer's negligence caused his injuries.
Glenn Morgenstern filed a complaint on Dec. 6 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against C. & G. Marine Services Inc. alleging negligence.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Oct. 8, 2016, he was working aboard defendants M/V Sophia Rose when he slipped and fell, causing him to sustain severe and enduring injuries resulting in physical and mental pain, disability and embarrassment. The plaintiff holds C. & G. Marine Services Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly negligently allowed the dangerous condition to exist on its vessel and failed to provide maintenance and cure benefits.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendant in the sum of $2 million, plus interest, costs and disbursement and for all other appropriate relief. He is represented by C. Arlen Braud II and Michelle O. Gallagher of Braud & Gallagher LLC in Mandeville.
