Customer blames restaurant for fall, injuries

GRETNA – A customer is suing a Metairie restaurant, seeking damages for a slip and fall incident.

Marcia George-Betancourt filed a lawsuit against Yong Jin LLC, doing business as Mandarin House, and Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company, Dec. 30 in the 24th Judicial District Court, alleging negligence.

According to the claim, Geroge-Bentancourt was a guest Jan. 2, 2016, at the Mandarin House in Metairie when she was caused to slip and fall due to an unreasonable and dangerous condition of a slippery floor.

The fall resulted in physical injuries for the plaintiff. The plaintiff alleges the defendant was negligent in failing to properly clean the premises or provide warning to patrons of the danger.

George-Betancourt seeks appropriate damages, attorney fees and court costs. She is is represented by attorney Arthur O. Schott III of Riguer Silva Law Office in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division J Judge Stephen C. Grefer.
