GRETNA -- A mortgage company is suing two customers, alleging they owe more than $130,000.
Freedom Mortgage Corporation filed a suit Jan. 9 against David S. Jenkins Jr. and Joseph Barksdale of Jefferson Parish in the 24th Judicial District Court, alleging failure to pay promissory note.
According to the claim, Freedom Mortgage is the holder of a promissory note for the principal sum of $131,200.26. The suit states Jenkins and Barksdale have breached the agreement to make installments on the note and are still indebted to the plaintiff for the $131,200.26, plus interest, late charges, escrow advances and other fees.
Freedom Mortgage seeks the sums due plus interest, attorney fees and court costs. It is is represented by attorney Stacy G. Butler of Kizer, Hood and Morgan LLP in Baton Rouge.
The case has been assigned to Division A Judge Raymond S. Steib Jr.
