Mortgage company alleges customer owes more than $36,000

NEW ORLEANS – A mortgage company is suing promissory note customers, alleging they owe more than $36,000.

Nationstar Mortgage LLC filed a lawsuit Jan. 13 against Lawrence J. Williams, also known as Lawrence Williams, and Kate Robert Williams, also known as Kate R. Williams and as Kate Williams, in Orleans Parish Civil District Court, alleging failure to pay off a promissory note.

According to the complaint, Naitonstar is the holder of a promissory note that was executed by the defendants. The principal sum of the note is $89,526.93, the suit states, and the Williamses were required to make payments on that sum.

The lawsuit says the defendants have failed to do so and are still indebted to the plaintiff for $36,627.83, plus interest.

Nationstar Mortgage seeks all reasonable money due, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. They are represented by attorney Corey J. Giroir Jr. of The Law Offices of Herschel C. Adcock Jr. in Baton Rouge.

The case has been assigned to Division A Judge Tiffany G. Chase.
