Customer blames supermarket for fall

NEW ORLEANS – A customer is suing a New Orleans supermarket, seeking damages for a slip and fall.

Herbrinsha Sheppard filed a lawsuit Jan. 17 against Rouse's Enterprises LLC, doing business as Rouse's Supermarket,  in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, Sheppard was at Rouse's Supermarket, 6600 Franklin Ave, New Orleans, May 17, 2016. The suit states she was caused to slip and fall store due to a wet substance left on the ground, which led to injuries for the plaintiff.

The defendant is accused of negligence through failing to clean up the store or warn of the danger and overall negligence.

Sheppard seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. She is represented by attorney John D. Sileo of New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division L Judge Kern A. Reese.
