NEW ORLEANS – A New Orleans woman is suing apartment owners, alleging their negligence caused her to trip over an object left outside her door.

Charlene Jarreau filed a lawsuit Jan. 12 in Orleans Parish Civil District Court against HRI Properties LLC, doing business as Bienville Basin, XYZ Insurance Company, On Iberville Phase 1, LLC, DEF Insurance Company, Woodward Design + Build LLC and ABC Insurance Company, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, on Jan. 14, 2016, Jarreau was exiting her apartment at 216 North Villere St., New Orleans. The suit states an electrical charging pack had been left outside of her door, causing Jarreau to trip and fall over it and suffer injuries.

The case has been assigned to Division A Judge Tiffany G. Chase.
