LSU alleges promissory note holder owes $1,000

NEW ORLEANS – Louisiana State University is suing a promissory note holder, alleging he owes $1,000.

The Louisiana State University System Board of Supervisors, through Louisiana State University, filed a lawsuit Jan. 6 against Dwane Hughes Jr. in Orleans Parish Civil District Court, alleging failing to pay off a promissory note.

According to the complaint, LSU is the holder of a promissory note for the balance of $1,000. The suit states Hughes has failed to make payments on the note and is indebted to the plaintiff for the full amount, plus interest.

Louisiana State seeks the money owed, all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. It is represented by attorney Rokeya J. Morris of the Louisiana Department of Justice in Baton Rouge.

The case has been assigned to Division M Judge Paulette R. Irons.
