NEW ORLEANS – A labor union is seeking reparation for being wronged.
United Labor Unions Local 100 filed a lawsuit against the city of New Orleans, New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu and New Orleans Property Management Director George Patterson in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging violations of law.
According to the complaint, the plaintiffs claim that there was a clear violation of the city of New Orleans Living Wage Ordinance, of which was unanimously voted. The plaintiffs claim that they were wronged when they did not reap the benefits of the legislation that they were entitled to.
The defendants are accused of violation of fair wages and not following legislation that had been established.
The plaintiffs seek all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. They are represented by attorney David Capasso of New Orleans.
The case has been assigned to Division J Judge Paula A. Brown.
