GRETNA – Bank of America is seeking damages for an unpaid mortgage note.
Bank of America N.A. filed a suit Jan. 30 against James C. Haik Jr., also known as James Haik Jr., James C. Haik and James Haik, in the 24th Judicial District Court, alleging sums due.
According to the claim, the plaintiff allowed the defendant to execute a note for the principal sum of $167,176. The suit states that the defendant has failed to make all payments as required and still owes $143,567.69 plus interest, even with a loan modification applied to the original balance.
The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Lindsay Faulkner of Shapiro & Daigrepont LLC in Metairie.
The case has been assigned to Division G Judge E. Adrian Adams.
