Woman blames poor lighting for fall, injury at Smoothie King Center

NEW ORLEANS – A woman claims that she was injured when she fell at the Smoothie King Center.

Irene David filed a lawsuit Jan. 26 against iSMG, SMG/LMI LLC, SMG Holdings Inc, Louisiana Stadium and Exposition District and Hastings, Clayton & Tucker Inc, doing business as Stiletto Entertainment in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff was a guest at the Smoothie King Center on Jan. 29, 2016, for a Barry Manilow concert. The suit states that the plaintiff was walking back to her seat but fell when she could not see the steps.

The defendant is accused of negligence through failing to create a safe environment of guests, failing to provide sufficient lighting and overall negligence.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. She is represented by attorney Lawrence A. Arcell of the Law Office of Lawrence A. Arcell LLC in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division G Judge Robin M. Giarrusso.
