NEW ORLEANS – An Orleans Parish woman claims that she continued to be in pain following a knee implant.
Ingrid Morris filed a lawsuit Jan. 30 against Howmedica Osteonics Corp., doing business as Stryker Orthopaedics, Stryker Corp. and Stryker Sales Corp. in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging negligence.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff was had an artificial knee implant on Feb. 10, 2015, at the Oschner Medical Center. The suit states that the plaintiff experienced pain from the implant and that the pain was so intense that she had to have revision surgery on April 12 or the knee implant.
The defendant is accused of negligence and fault through failing to create a safe and fully operating knee implant, failing to ensure that there were not dangerous flaws to the device and overall negligence through failing to provide the proper services to customers.
The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. She is represented by attorney Jevan S. Fleming of Ron Austin & Associates LLC in Harvey.
The case has been assigned to Division J Judge Paula A. Brown.
