Customer alleges uneven pavement caused her injuries

GRETNA – A customer is suing a shoe store, alleging its negligence caused her to fall.

Rayanne Goldstein filed a suit Feb. 6 against Payless Shoesource Inc in 24th Judicial District Court, alleging negligence.

According to the claim, on April 2, 2016, Goldstein was a guest in the defendant's store, at 3141 Veterans Memorial Blvd., Metairie. The suit states she tripped and fell on uneven pavement on the store's walkway. The fall resulted in mental and physical injuries to Goldstein, the lawsuit says.

Payless Shoesource is accused of negligently failing to take the necessary precautions to prevent such an incident from occurring through failing to place any sort of warning.

Goldstein seeks all reasonable damages, attorney fees and court costs. She is represented by attorney Jim S. Hall of Jim S. Hall & Associates LLC in Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division C Judge June Berry Darensburg.
