United Forming Inc. claims it is owed more than $200,000 for construction work

NEW ORLEANS – Metairie company The McDonnel Group and another business are accused of not paying for labor and materials for a construction project in New Orleans.

United Forming Inc. filed a complaint on Feb. 3 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against The McDonnel Group LLC, Archer Western Construction LLC and Travelers Casualty and Surety Co. alleging breach of contract.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Oct. 4, 2011, plaintiff provided the necessary labor and materials to complete all the work required for the completion of an Orleans Parish Sheriff Office project. To date, the plaintiff alleges it has an unpaid claim in the principal amount of $225,124. The plaintiff holds McDonnel Group LLC, Archer Western Construction LLC and Travelers Casualty and Surety Co. responsible because defendants McDonnel and Archer JV allegedly failed and refused to remit full payment for plaintiff's completed work and defendant Travelers the make payment for the bond it issued.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendants, in an amount to be proven at the trial, plus pre-judgment interest, litigation expenses and all further relief as the court deems just and proper.
