Visitor blames convention center operators for injuries

NEW ORLEANS – A California woman is suing the Morial Convention Center, alleging its negligence led to her suffering injuries. 

Kathie Pelletier filed a lawsuit Feb. 9 against the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, Keller Williams Realty Inc and Does 1 to 10 in Orleans Parish Civil District Court, alleging negligence and liability.

According to the complaint, on Feb. 15, 2016, Pelletier was a guest at the defendant's property, 900 Convention Center Blvd., New Orleans. The suit states Pelletier tripped and fell on an uneven floor, resulting in injuries to her shoulder and other parts of her body.

The defendants are accused of negligently failing to see a dangerous condition, failing to warn of the condition or remedy it, and liability

Pelletier seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. She is representing herself.

The case has been assigned to Division G Judge Robin M. Giarrusso.
