Credit union alleges couple owes more than $118,000

GRETNA – A credit union is suing a couple, alleging they owe more than $118,000 for a promissory note.

ASI Federal Credit Union filed a suit Feb. 14 against Duane M. Buras Jr., also known as Duane Michael Buras Jr., and Noel Lopez Buras in the 24th Judicial District Court alleging sums due.

According to the claim, ASI Federal is the holder of a promissory note for the balance of $118,309. The suit states the Burases were required to make regular payments on the balance but failed to keep up with them. They are still indebted to the plaintiff for the full amount of the note, plus interest, the lawsuit states.

ASI Federal Credit Union seeks all sums due, attorney fees and court costs. It is represented by attorney J. Donald Morgan of Kizer, Hood, and Morgan LLP in Baton Rouge.

The case has been assigned to Division G Judge E. Adrian Adams.

The 24th Judicial District Court Case number 769066.
