Motorist blames trucking company for crash

NEW ORLEANS – An Orleans Parish man is suing a trucking company, alleging their negligence caused a crash.

Tyrone Pierre filed a lawsuit Feb. 16 against Josh Does, Hamrac Trucking LLC and Occidental Fire and Casualty Company of North Carolina in Orleans Parish Civil District Court, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, Pierre was operating his motor vehicle Feb. 26, 2016, when an employee of the defendant, driving a tractor trailer westbound on Interstate Highway 10, struck the plaintiff's car and then drove away.

The defendants are accused of driving in a reckless manner, failing to see what it should have seen and failing to take the appropriate actions.

Pierre seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. He is represented by attorney Jonathan D. Wasielewski of New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division G Judge Robin M. Giarrusso.
