Law firm alleges client owes more than $170,000

NEW ORLEANS – A law firm is suing a client alleging it owes more than $170,000. 

Pepper & Associates Inc., filed a lawsuit Feb. 14 against the Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans in Orleans Parish Civil District Court, alleging open account and breach of contract.

According to the complaint, Pepper & Associates issued legal services to the water board for a number of years. The suit says the plaintiff's services totaled $173,011.08, and the defendant has failed to pay back the plaintiff.

Pepper & Associates seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. It is represented by attorneys Jonathan P. Lemann, Jason A. Cavignac and Claire E. Pontier of Couhig Partners LLC in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division I Judge Piper D. Griffin.
