GRETNA – A Louisiana woman is suing FedEx, alleging one of its drivers caused a crash.
Melissa Manwaring filed a suit March 6 against Federal Express Corporation, Protective Insurance Company and Alvin Lockett in 24th Judicial District Court, alleging negligence.
According to the claim, on March 29, 2016, Manwaring was driving northbound on Elise Avenue in Jefferson Parish. The suit states Lockett, who was driving a FedEx truck southbound on the same road, made an improper left turn and struck the plaintiff's car, leading to injuries for Manwaring.
The defendants are accused of negligence and reckless driving through failing to keep a watchful eye, failing to yield while turning and overall negligence.
Manwaring seeks reasonable damages, attorney fees and court costs. She is represented by attorney Raynique Keelen of Morris Bart LLC in New Orleans.
The case has been assigned to Division G Judge E. Adrian Adams.
