Woman sues Jefferson Parish after car accident

GRETNA – A Jefferson Parish woman claims that a local government car struck hers and caused a personal injury.

Dolores Levet filed a suit March 14 against the Parish of Jefferson and Kenneth Paul Burst in the 24th Judicial District Court, alleging negligence.

According to the claim, the plaintiff was driving her vehicle on May 20, 2016, when the incident occurred. The suit states that the plaintiff was driving on Dickory Avenue in Jefferson Parish when the defendant, who was driving a vehicle owned by the Parish of Jefferson, struck the rear of the plaintiff's vehicle, resulting in injuries to the plaintiff and damage to her car.

The defendant is accused of negligence through failing to keep a lookout, failing to apply the brakes in enough time and overall reckless driving.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Kenneth Miller of Dudley Debosier PLC in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division K Judge Ellen Shirer Kovach.

The 24th Judicial District Court Case number 769941.
