GRETNA – A couple claims that dangerous stairs led to the wife's injury in a fall at an apartment building.

Sharolyn Davis and husband Richard Davis filed a suit March 15 against Stonebridge Manor New Orleans LLC in the 24th Judicial District Court, alleging negligence.

According to the claim, the plaintiffs, both residents of Louisiana, are seeking damages after the incident. The suit states that on April 26, 2016, plaintiff Sharolyn Davis was walking down a stairwell at the defendant's property at 3300 Wall Blvd. in Gretna. The plaintiff allegedly fell to the bottom of the stairs, due to the poor condition that they were in. The plaintiff was injured in her leg, knee and other body parts, the complaint says.

The defendant is accused of negligence through failing to properly inspect the premises for dangerous conditions, failing to repair the stairs and failing to warn of the danger.

The plaintiffs are seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The couple is represented by T. Carey Wicker III, J. Alex Watkins and Vincent E. Odom of Capitelli and Wicker in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division H Judge Glenn Ansardi.

The 24th Judicial District Court Case number 769953.
