Grambling State University alleges student didn't pay for charges from fall 2014 semester

NEW ORLEANS – A university is seeking more than $1,200.

University of Louisiana System Board of Supervisors through Grambling State University filed a lawsuit March 15 against Chassity Brown of Orleans Parish in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging an open account.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff issued services to the defendant and was never paid for them. The defendant owes a balance of $1,370.60 plus interest for charges accumulated in the fall 2014 semester.

The defendant is accused of an open account.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Scott L. Smith Jr. of the Louisiana Department of Justice in Baton Rouge.

The case has been assigned to Division B Judge Melvin Zeno.
