NEW ORLEANS – A New Orleans woman is seeking rescission of the sales contract of a Ford Mustang.

Nicole Bridges filed a complaint on March 31 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against Ford Motor Co. alleging that the car manufacturer violated the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act and other counts.

According to the complaint, on Nov. 1, 2016, the plaintiff purchased a new 2015 Ford Mustang for $44,569.76. When delivered, the Mustang was allegedly defective in materials and workmanship, such defect substantially impaired its use, value and safety. The plaintiff holds Ford Motor Co. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to perform repair work in a good and workmanlike manner so as to bring it into conformity with the warranties.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks the remedy of rescission of the sales contract, incidental and consequential damages, diminution in value, economic losses, costs of suit and all other relief the court deems appropriate. She is represented by Richard C. Dalton of Richard C. Dalton LLC in Mandeville.
