University of New Orleans seeks payment of promissory note from Orleans Parish resident

NEW ORLEANS – A university is seeking damages for an unpaid promissory note.

University of Louisiana System Board of Supervisors through University of New Orleans filed a lawsuit against Darel Joseph in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging suit on a promissory note.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff issued the defendant a promissory note for the balance of $1,000, and the defendant failed to pay it off.

The defendant is accused of failing to pay off the balance.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Rokeya J. Morris of the Louisiana Department of Justice in Baton Rouge.

The case has been assigned to Division M Judge Paulette R. Irons.
