Orleans Parish resident allegedly never paid off promissory note

NEW ORLEANS – A university is seeking payment of a promissory note.

University of Louisiana system board of supervisors through University of New Orleans filed a lawsuit April 5 against Gabrielle D. Freels of Orleans Parish in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging suit on a promissory note.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff issued a promissory note to the defendant which was never paid off. The suit states that the defendant owes the plaintiff $2,000.

The defendant is accused of failing to pay off the sums due.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Rokeya J. Morris of the Louisiana Department of Justice in Baton Rouge.

The case has been assigned to Division N Judge Ethel S. Julien.
