Former Heart Clinic of Hammond employees allege they were subjected to discrimination

Wrongful term 11

BATON ROUGE – Two Tangipahoa Parish residents allege their former Hammond employer retaliated against them for their complaints of sexual harassment.

Mary Boe and Aline M. Thibodeaux filed a complaint on April 5 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Louisiana against Heart Clinic of Hammond LLC alleging that the former employer violated Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the Louisiana Employment Discrimination Law and the Americans with Disabilities Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that they both were subjected to sexual harassment and discrimination because of medical disabilities. They allege they were terminated without any reason in 2016.

The plaintiffs hold Heart Clinic of Hammond LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly subjected them to harassment, disability discrimination and retaliation because of their disability and/or perceived disability and terminated their employment for complaining of the sexual harassment.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek punitive damages, plus interest, costs of these proceedings, attorney's fees and all other legal and equitable relief. They are represented by James L. Arruebarrena of James L. Arruebarrena LLC in New Orleans.
