Orleans Parish allegedly owes $4,000 on promissory note

NEW ORLEANS – A university is seeking payment on a promissory note.

University of Louisiana System Board of Supervisors through University of New Orleans filed a lawsuit April 10 against Jennifer Lynn Engel of Orleans Parish in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging an unpaid promissory note.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff issued the defendant a promissory note which was never paid off. The suit states that the defendant still owes the plaintiff $4,000.

The defendant is accused of sums due on the note.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Rokeya J. Morris of the Louisiana Department of Justice in Baton Rouge.

The case has been assigned to Division N Judge Ethel S. Julien.
