Hornbeck Offshore Services tank cleaner alleges he was injured while working

NEW ORLEANS – A Terrebonne Parish man alleges his Covington employer failed to provide him with a safe place to work.

Herman Verdin Jr. filed a complaint on April 11 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against Hornbeck Offshore Services LLC alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Feb. 9, 2015, he was boarding defendant's vessel to perform his duties as a tank cleaner when he slipped and fell between the vessel and the dock, causing him to sustain severe injuries. Plaintiff alleges he suffered lost earnings, medical expenses and pain and suffering.

The plaintiff holds Hornbeck Offshore Services LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to provide a proper means of ingress/egress to/from the vessel and failed to warn plaintiff of the existing hazards.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks actual and punitive damages, prejudgment and post-judgment interest, attorney's fees, costs of suit and all other relief to which he may be entitled. He is represented by Walter Naquin Jr. of Naquin Law Firm in Thibodaux.
