Man files suit against Vessels of Opportunity program operators alleging conspiracy

Contract 08

NEW ORLEANS – An Alabama man alleges he was not paid for cleanup work he performed in relation to the Deepwater Horizon spill.

Nicholas W. Collier filed a complaint on April 12 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against BP America Production Co., Parsons Corp., Danos & Curole Staffing LLC, et al. alleging breach of contract, fraudulent misrepresentation, conspiracy and other counts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in 2010, as a result of the Deepwater Horizon oil spill, plaintiff participated in defendants' Vessels of Opportunity program and entered into a Master Vessel Charter Agreement to help clean up the Gulf Coast. The plaintiff alleges he has not been fully compensated.

The plaintiff holds BP America Production Co., Parsons Corp., Danos & Curole Staffing LLC, et al. responsible because the defendants allegedly fraudulently induced plaintiff into the VOO program and underpaid his services and his vessels’ participation in the said program.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory damages, plus interest, costs and all other relief that is appropriate and just. He is represented by Allison W. Smalley, Robert T. Cunningham, Steven L. Nicholas and Stephen C. Olen of Cunningham Bounds LLC in Mobile, Alabama.
