Jefferson Parish woman allegedly failed to show funds were used to elevate home

GRETNA – A woman is being sued after she failed to use funds as intended.

State of Louisiana, Division of Administration, Office of Community Development-Disaster Recovery Unit filed a suit April 24 against Sandy Lussier of Jefferson Parish in the 24th Judicial District Court alleging sums due.

According to the claim, the plaintiff granted the defendant $30,000 as part of an incentive program, which the defendant should have used towards a home elevation following Hurricane Katrina. The suit states that the defendant has failed show proof of to use the funds as intended.

The defendant is accused of sums due. 

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Mary Catherine Cali of Shows, Cali & Walsh LLP in Baton Rouge.

The case has been assigned to Division P Judge Lee V. Faulkner Jr.

The 24th Judicial District Court Case number 771303.
