Jefferson Parish residents allegedly didn't prove they used home elevation funds as intended

GRETNA – Two Jefferson Parish residents are being sued for misallocation of government funds.

State of Louisiana, Division of Administration, Office of Community Development-Disaster Recovery Unit filed a suit April 25 against Terrance McKey and Tameka Scott in the 24th Judicial District Court alleging sums due.

According to the claim, the plaintiff delivered the sum of $30,000 to the defendants as part of a home elevation incentive program. The defendants allegedly have failed to show that they have used the funds for the work intended.

The defendant is accused of sums due.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Mary Catherine Cali of Shows, Cali & Walsh LLP in Baton Rouge.

The case has been assigned to Division J Judge Stephen C. Grefer.

The 24th Judicial District Court Case number 771359.
