Jefferson Parish man allegedly failed to prove money was used as intended

GRETNA – A Jefferson Parish man is being sued for sums due by the government.

State of Louisiana, Division of Administration, Office of Community Development-Disaster Recovery Unit filed a suit April 24 against Christian Koerner in the 24th Judicial District Court alleging sums due.

According to the claim, the plaintiff gave the defendant $30,000, which was to be used for the elevation of his home following Hurricane Katrina. The suit states that the defendant failed to show he used the funds for the intended purpose.

The defendant is accused of sums due.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Mary Catherine Cali of Shows, Cali & Walsh LLP in Baton Rouge.

The case has been assigned to Division C Judge June Berry Darensburg.

The 24th Judicial District Court Case number 771356.
