Jefferson Parish couple allegedly failed to prove they used funding for home elevation work

GRETNA – A couple is being sued for failing to use government incentive money as intended.

State of Louisiana, Division of Administration, office of Community Development-Disaster Recovery Unit filed a suit April 24 against Annette Croom and Oliver Croom Sr. in the 24th Judicial District Court alleging sums due.

According to the claim, the plaintiff delivered the defendants the sum of $30,000 to use toward the elevation of their home following Hurricane Katrina. The defendants allegedly failed to prove they used the funds for the purpose intended.

The defendant is accused of sums due.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by John C. Walsh of Shows, Cali & Walsh LLP in Baton Rouge.

The case has been assigned to Division H Judge Glenn B. Ansardi.

The 24th Judicial District Court Case number 771352.
